    Cricket Enthusiasts Eagerly Await the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 as India and Pakistan Clash on Opening Day

    The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the revised schedule for the highly anticipated women’s Asia Cup 2024, set to commence on July 19 in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. Defending champions India will face off against arch-rivals Pakistan in the evening game on the opening day, while Nepal and UAE will kickstart the tournament in the afternoon.

    Initially, the India-Pakistan and Nepal-UAE matches were slated for July 21, but the ACC has now adjusted the schedule, with the opening day featuring these marquee clashes. The rest of the group stage fixtures remain unchanged, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the semi-finals on July 26. The final will be played on July 28.

    “The tournament will feature eight teams, one more than the previous edition, with the inclusion of an additional participant.”

    The teams have been divided into two groups, with Group A comprising India, Nepal, Pakistan, and UAE, while Group B consists of hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Thailand.

    This year’s edition of the women’s Asia Cup promises to be an exciting affair, as India, the most successful team in the tournament with seven titles, look to defend their crown. The clash between India and Pakistan, always a highly anticipated encounter, will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the opening day.
