Terrance Hinds Handed Debut as Andre Russell Misses West Indies’ Second T20I Against England Due to Injury

Kensington Oval, November 10, 2024 – In the second T20I match between West Indies and England, Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl first for the second consecutive night. The visitors made one change to their lineup, with Jofra Archer returning in place of the injured Reece Topley.

For the hosts, West Indies were forced to make three changes to their team after all-rounder Andre Russell sustained an ankle injury during the previous match. Trinidadian all-rounder Terrance Hinds was handed his international debut, while Roston Chase and Matthew Forde were also brought in to replace Shimron Hetmyer and Shamar Joseph, respectively.

West Indies captain Rovman Powell emphasized the need for improved batting performances, particularly in terms of building partnerships and avoiding losing wickets in quick succession, despite their strong batting lineup.

“We need to be more patient and disciplined with our batting. Building partnerships and minimizing quick wickets will be crucial in this match.”

The stage was set for an intriguing encounter as England looked to build on their impressive victory in the opening match of the five-T20I series.
