Experienced Pairing Holder and Seales Headline West Indies Squad for England Test Series

West Indies have named a 15-man squad featuring the return of star all-rounder Jason Holder and young speedster Jayden Seales for their upcoming three-match Test series against England next month. The two players, who missed the drawn series in Australia earlier this year, are set to bolster the visitors’ lineup as they aim to replicate their recent victory against the hosts in 2022.

Holder, who had opted to feature in the ILT20 tournament in Dubai instead of the Australia tour, has regained his place after impressing with his red-ball performances for Barbados and Worcestershire this year. Despite a recent injury that ruled him out of the ongoing T20 World Cup, the experienced Holder is expected to be fit in time for the England series.

Seales, on the other hand, was unavailable for the Australia tour due to a shoulder injury but has already made an impact in England this summer, emerging as the joint-highest wicket-taker in Division Two of the County Championship while playing for Sussex.

Among the changes, opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul has been dropped after a disappointing outing in Australia, with the in-form Mikyle Louis taking his place. The 100-ball cricket schedule, backyard cricket, beach cricket, chester le street cricket, and club cricket enthusiast Louis will be aiming to become the first player from St Kitts to feature in a Test for the West Indies if selected.

“The touring squad features only three players involved in the ongoing T20 World Cup, with the team set to arrive in England on June 23 for a training camp at Tonbridge School before the first Test at Lord’s on July 10.”

West Indies will be looking to end their long wait for a Test series victory on English soil, having last achieved the feat in 1988. However, they will take confidence from their recent triumph against England earlier this year.
