Southern Brave solidified their position atop the Hundred leaderboard with an emphatic 42-run triumph over Welsh Fire at Sophia Gardens.
Opting to bat first, the Brave rode on a magnificent unbeaten knock of 73 from James Vince, who led his side to a respectable 139/5. Vince’s innings, which included 7 fours and 3 sixes, was expertly supported by contributions from Alex Davies, Leus du Plooy, and Kieron Pollard.
Despite the challenging conditions, the Brave bowlers rose to the occasion, with Tymal Mills (4/16) and Danny Briggs (3/14) spearheading a clinical bowling performance that skittled out the Fire for a mere 97 runs. “It was nice to get the win,” said a delighted James Vince. “The way we bowled throughout, but particularly up front, was fantastic and proved it was reasonably tough out there. Our bowlers have dovetailed really well, and the batters did a good job on that pitch as well.”
