    Former India Fast Bowler David Johnson Passes Away at 52

    David Johnson, the former India fast bowler, has passed away at the age of 52. Johnson, known for his pace, played two Test matches for India in 1996, picking up three wickets.

    Johnson’s domestic career with Karnataka showcased his talent, as he recorded impressive figures of 10 for 152 against Kerala in the 1995-96 Ranji Trophy season. This performance earned him a spot in the Indian team.

    Johnson made his Test debut in the Delhi Test against Australia in 1996. With Javagal Srinath injured, Johnson shared the new ball with his Karnataka teammate, Venkatesh Prasad. He then went on to play the first Test against South Africa, but the lack of control meant his Test career was short-lived, lasting just two matches.

    Johnson’s last competitive match was in the Karnataka Premier League in 2015, marking the end of his cricketing career.
