Cricket fans, get ready for an exciting new chapter in Pakistan’s white-ball team journey! Aaqib Javed, the former Pakistan quick and current UAE men’s head coach, has been appointed as the interim head coach of Pakistan’s men’s national white-ball teams until the conclusion of the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made the announcement on Monday, stating that Aaqib will also continue to serve as a senior member of the Pakistan men’s selection committee. Additionally, he will be assigned further responsibilities following the Champions Trophy, which Pakistan is set to host.

The appointment of Aaqib Javed comes as Pakistan prepares for a busy schedule, including a tour of Zimbabwe and a series against South Africa, before hosting the prestigious Champions Trophy next year. The PCB has also initiated the process to find a permanent white-ball head coach, with the aim of completing the appointment by the end of the Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, Jason Gillespie will continue to helm the Test side, joining the touring party for the two-Test series in South Africa, which starts on December 26.

Fans can look forward to 100-ball cricket live action and engaging club cricket fantasy experiences as Pakistan embarks on this new chapter of their white-ball journey under Aaqib Javed’s interim leadership. Stay tuned for more updates on the team’s performance and the search for a permanent white-ball head coach.
