Cricket Enthusiasts Rejoice: Pakistan’s Packed 2024-25 Home Season Unveiled

Pakistan’s cricket fans have reason to celebrate as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced an incredibly busy home international schedule for the 2024-25 season. The country will host a staggering seven Test matches, spread across several high-profile series against Bangladesh, England, and the West Indies.

The action kicks off in August this year, as Bangladesh arrives for a two-Test series, with matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi. This marks a departure from Pakistan’s traditional home schedule, which typically avoids the hot and humid conditions of the monsoon season. However, the PCB is confident the series will proceed smoothly.

Following the Bangladesh tour, England will tour Pakistan for three Tests in October, visiting Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. This will be followed by Pakistan’s limited-overs tours of Australia and Zimbabwe, as well as a full-fledged tour of South Africa, featuring T20Is and Tests.

The home calendar then resumes in January 2025, with the West Indies playing two Test matches in Karachi and Multan. Interestingly, the original three T20Is from the West Indies’ postponed tour have been dropped from the revised schedule.

In addition to the thrilling Test series, Pakistan will also host an ODI tri-series in Multan, featuring New Zealand and South Africa, in early February. This will serve as a warm-up for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy, which Pakistan is set to host from February 19 to March 9, 2025 – the country’s first major ICC event in 29 years.

“The packed home season, which includes seven World Test Championship matches, is a marked contrast to the previous year, during which Pakistan played no Tests at home. Fans can look forward to a thrilling and action-packed year of cricket, as the country’s top teams battle it out on the field.”
