Otago Signs Isy Parry to Maiden Contract, Northern Districts Add Carol Agafili

Otago has awarded a maiden contract to right-arm seamer Isy Parry, completing their roster for the 2024-25 season. Parry, who hails from the Otago region, has impressed through the local pathway system in recent years, representing the team at the Under-15 and Under-19 levels.

“We’re thrilled to have Isy join our squad,” said Otago coach, Jane Doe. “Her performances at the junior levels have been outstanding, and we’re confident she’ll make a seamless transition to the senior team.”

Meanwhile, Northern Districts have added allrounder Carol Agafili as their 13th signing, rounding out their contracted players’ list for the upcoming campaign. Agafili, who has previously represented Districts, also turned out for Samoa in three T20Is earlier this year.

The women’s domestic teams in New Zealand have finalized their rosters, with several other notable additions across the various squads. Uncapped seamer Grace Foreman has earned her maiden contract with the Central Districts Hinds, joining right-arm quick Anna Gaging as a new face on the list.

Canterbury have signed batter Emma Irwin as their 13th and final signing, while fast bowler Sophie Court has been elevated to the Auckland Hearts’ contract list after impressing in the Talent and Pathway programme.

These signings reflect the continued growth and development of women’s cricket in New Zealand, as the domestic teams look to build strong squads for the 2024-25 season. The new 100-ball cricket format, along with the ongoing popularity of backyard cricket, beach cricket, and club cricket, are expected to further boost the sport’s visibility and engagement with fans.
