In a gripping Vitality Blast clash at Wantage Road, Northamptonshire Steelbacks emerged victorious by a narrow six-run margin over Worcestershire Rapids. The all-rounder Saif Zaib shone brightly for the home side, contributing an unbeaten 44 off just 21 deliveries and taking three crucial wickets for 20 runs.

The Rapids’ chase saw them stumble to 120 for 8 in the 16th over, before a remarkable cameo from Gareth Roderick gave them a glimmer of hope. Blasting 39 off just 22 balls, Roderick took the game to the wire, but Raphy Weatherall‘s brilliant final over ensured Northamptonshire’s victory.
