England Spinner Jack Leach Signs New Two-Year Contract with Somerset
England spinner Jack Leach has signed a new two-year contract with Somerset, the club he has represented throughout his entire career. The 33-year-old, who was born and raised in Taunton, has earned 36 Test caps for his country and taken 126 wickets at an impressive average of 34.40.
“Somerset is home and I feel very lucky to continue to represent the club I love,” he told the club’s official website. “The support I’ve had from the club and the fans over the last 12 months whilst out injured has meant so much, and I look forward to repaying that faith with performances on the pitch.”
Leach, who has made 162 appearances across first-class, List A, and T20 formats for Somerset, has expressed his delight at continuing to represent the club he loves. Currently, Somerset sits third in the County Championship Division One table, and Leach’s contract extension will be a significant boost for the club as they aim to challenge for the title. The experienced spinner’s consistent performances and unwavering commitment to Somerset have made him a key figure in the team’s success over the years.
