Dhaka Metropolis kicked off the season with a commanding ten-wicket victory over Rajshahi Division. Left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan, who recorded career-best figures of 8 for 56 in the second innings, combined with young left-arm quick Maruf Mridha, who had bagged 6 for 22 in the first, to dismantle Rajshahi’s batting lineup. Dhaka Metropolis then chased down the modest target of 14 runs with ease.
Meanwhile, Sylhet Division successfully chased down a 220-run target against Chattogram Division in a low-scoring affair. Left-hander Pinak Ghosh’s unbeaten 62 off 81 balls guided Sylhet to their first win this season, despite falling behind in the first innings.
In another match, Ashiqur Rahman’s maiden first-class century helped Dhaka Division play out a draw against Rangpur Division. The left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam starred for Dhaka Division, while veteran Naeem Islam’s resilient 75 ensured Rangpur avoided defeat.
Heavy rain forced a draw between Khulna Division and Barishal Division, with Khulna declaring at 408 for 9 and Barishal’s Abdul Mazid scoring a century in response.
