England Aim to Seal T20I Series Against Resurgent West Indies

On a sun-drenched evening in St. Lucia, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to field first in the fifth and final T20I of their West Indies tour. The hosts, looking to back up their consolation victory less than 24 hours prior, made one change, with Romario Shepherd replacing the injured Obed McCoy.

Despite the tourists already sealing the series by winning the first three games, both sides were eager to end the tour on a high note. “We’re up against a great opposition,” Buttler acknowledged. “We had a fantastic game yesterday, a high-scoring match. We did a pretty good job, but West Indies are always going to play that way when chasing a big score.”

The pitch, which had yielded a staggering 32 sixes in the previous encounter, presented an intriguing challenge for the bowlers under overcast skies. England made two changes, bringing in Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid for the injured Saqib Mahmood and Dan Mousley.

“It’s a case of we’re still following the same template as yesterday. If you’ve got to bat first, you’ve got to bat really good. It’s an opportunity for us,” said Rovman Powell, the West Indies captain, remaining optimistic.

With the stage set for another captivating clash between the two teams, the fans in attendance eagerly anticipated the action-packed conclusion to the England tour of West Indies.
