Bangladesh rode on the confidence instilled by Mushfiqur Rahim’s magnificent 191 on Saturday, putting them in a commanding position. Pakistan, who had already lost Saim Ayub on the fourth evening, now find themselves in deep trouble with the loss of five more frontline batters, including the prized wicket of captain Babar Azam.
The day started with Bangladesh’s bowlers, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, combining to expose Pakistan’s batting lineup. Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, and Agha Salman all fell in quick succession, leaving the hosts struggling at 65 for 2.
