Cricket Enthusiasts Eagerly Await Bangladesh’s Squads for West Indies Tour

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has yet to announce the squads for the upcoming Bangladesh tour of the West Indies in November. This highly anticipated series will feature two Test matches, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and three T20 Internationals (T20Is).

The focus has been on the Bangladesh team’s recent announcement of Najmul Hossain Shanto as the captain for the three ODIs against Afghanistan in Sharjah next week. This decision followed discussions between Shanto and BCB president Faruque Ahmed, after Shanto had expressed his reluctance to continue as the national team’s all-format captain.

The BCB has indicated that Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who was named Shanto’s deputy for the Afghanistan series, and Taskin Ahmed are the “front-runners” in the ongoing captaincy discussions. All three players are part of the Bangladesh ODI squad for the Afghanistan series.

The selectors have also recalled opener Zakir Hasan and left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed to the squad. Zakir has played just a single ODI last year, in addition to 12 Test appearances, while Nasum last featured in the ODI World Cup in India last year.

“The Bangladesh team will depart for Dubai in two groups on Saturday and Sunday, ahead of the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan on November 6, 9, and 11 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.”

The squad for the Bangladesh tour of the West Indies is eagerly awaited by cricket enthusiasts, as the team looks to build on their recent performances and make a strong impression in the upcoming fixtures.
