West Indies Unchanged for Third Straight Match in T20 World Cup

The T20 World Cup 2024 moved to the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, as West Indies and New Zealand faced off in a crucial Group C clash. West Indies went in with an unchanged XI for the third consecutive game, looking to secure their spot in the Super Eight with a win.

New Zealand, on the other hand, made three changes to their lineup, as they sought to bounce back from their opening-game defeat against Afghanistan. James Neesham, Rachin Ravindra, and Tim Southee replaced Mark Chapman, Michael Bracewell, and Matt Henry, with the Kiwis eyeing a return to winning ways.

“We’re looking at Rachin mainly as a top-order batter, but he can also slot into the middle order,” said New Zealand head coach Gary Stead. “Part of our preparation with Rachin was understanding that he may not be in that specific position, so we’ve played him in those middle-order roles as well.”

West Indies captain Rovman Powell, meanwhile, opted to stick with the same successful formula, fielding the same XI for the third straight game. The team, which includes the likes of Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, and Andre Russell, will be hoping to make it six points out of six and secure their place in the next round.

The match at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams eager to claim the crucial win.
