Essex Signs South African All-Rounder Eathan Bosch for County Championship

On April 25th, Cricket news reported that Essex has signed South African all-rounder Eathan Bosch for the remainder of the 2023 County Championship season.

Eathan Bosch, a seasoned first-class player, has an impressive track record, having claimed 92 wickets in 38 matches at an average of 27.18. He has also contributed with the bat, amassing 1,053 runs, including a century. Bosch was last seen in action for Dolphins in April, when they faced a defeat against Lions in the final of South Africa’s T20 Challenge competition.

“Bosch’s addition to the team will bring significant value to our seam bowling arsenal, as his experience in various conditions will add a new dimension to our attack. His presence will motivate the rest of the squad to push themselves to new heights as the County Championship season reaches its climax.”

    – Anthony McGrath, Essex Head Coach

Interestingly, Eathan Bosch’s father, Tertius Bosch, played one Test and two one-day internationals for South Africa in 1992, following the country’s readmission to international cricket.

The signing of Eathan Bosch is expected to bolster Essex’s chances in the 100-ball cricket live, club cricket, and Chester le Street cricket competitions, as they aim to make a strong push for the Championship title.
