Worcestershire Bolster Bowling Lineup with Ben Allison Loan

In a move to strengthen their bowling attack, Worcestershire have re-signed all-rounder Ben Allison from Essex on a loan deal for their upcoming County Championship matches against Surrey and Durham. The 24-year-old, standing at an impressive 6ft 5in, is set to be one of at least two changes to the Pears lineup as they return to four-day cricket after a three-week break from T20 Blast action.

Allison, who previously joined Worcestershire on loan for the final three Championship games of the previous season, will be a welcome addition to the squad. During that stint, he managed to take five wickets and contribute 134 runs, helping the club secure promotion back to Division One.

The Pears will also continue to have the services of England spinner Shoaib Bashir, who is still on loan from Somerset and is expected to feature in the upcoming matches.

Worcestershire’s return to County Championship duty comes at a crucial time, as they prepare to take on the reigning champions, Surrey, followed by a clash with Durham. The inclusion of Allison and the continued availability of Bashir will be crucial in their efforts to maintain their strong position in the league standings.
