Pakistan Aims to Sign off T20 World Cup Campaign on a High Note Against Ireland
Pakistan, having already missed out on the Super Eight stage, will look to end their T20 World Cup campaign on a positive note when they face Ireland in Lauderhill, Florida. The weather has finally improved in the region, allowing the match to proceed after three previous games were washed out.
In the final group-stage fixture for both sides, Pakistan made one change to their lineup, bringing in fast bowler Abbas Afridi for Naseem Shah. Ireland also made a single alteration, with Ben White replacing Craig Young.
Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, have only managed one victory so far in the tournament, against Canada, having lost to USA and India. Ireland, on the other hand, are still seeking their first win, having suffered defeats to India and Canada in their completed matches.
“The teams are eager to end their T20 World Cup campaigns on a high note, showcasing their skills and determination despite being eliminated from the Super Eight race.”
The teams:
- Pakistan: Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saim Ayub, Babar Azam (capt), Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Abbas Afridi, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir
- Ireland: Andy Balbirnie, Paul Stirling (capt), Lorcan Tucker (wk), Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Gareth Delany, Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, Josh Little, Ben White
With both teams already eliminated from the Super Eight race, the match will serve as an opportunity for the players to showcase their skills and end the tournament on a high note.
